 ان کی مشہور خود نوشت سوانح عمری ہے، جو انگریزی سے اردو میں ترجمہ ہوئی ہے۔ یہ کتاب نہ صرف ان کی ذاتی زندگی بلکہ اُس وقت کے ہندوستان کے سیاسی، معاشرتی اور معاشی حالات کی بھی عکاسی کرتی ہے۔ اس اردو ترجمے کا اہتمام فکشن ہاؤس کے جناب ظہور احمد خاں نے کیا، جو کتاب کو پڑھنے کا ایک نیا لطف دیتے ہیں۔

Khalid Latif Gauba, originally known as Kania Lal Gauba, was a highly respected lawyer in pre-partition India, admired by both his friends and foes. Despite being born into a wealthy Hindu family, his success was self-made, achieved through dedication, hard work, and keen understanding. A turning point in his life came when he, along with his wife, embraced Islam and adopted the name Khalid Latif Gauba. Gauba later authored a well-received book on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

This book, Friends and Foes, is the Urdu translation of his original English autobiography, masterfully translated by Zahoor Ahmed Khan of Fiction House. Gauba’s autobiography not only sheds light on his personal journey but also delves into the social, economic, and political conditions of pre-partition India, uncovering many hidden aspects of that era.
